The Municipal Library of Písek

Welcome to the website of The Municipal Library of Písek.

The Municipal Library of Písek was founded in 1841 and is one of the oldest public city libraries in the Czech Republic. It is a basic library with a universal fund which provides library and information services to all citizens. This library carries out informational, cultural and educational activities. It collects, processes, stores and makes available information, literature and other cultural values.

Currently the library fund contains more than 135 000 library items – books, magazines, maps, audiovisual media, ect. You can search the online catalog for library resources.

The library provides public internet access to all who are interested. You can also connect to the internet using your own laptop.
